Sophia Roddan
Sophia Roddan is a qualified mindfulness teacher, educator, artist and wellbeing mentor with a deeply compassionate and creative approach to her work. With a background in Fine Art, nursing, education, and holistic wellbeing, she has spent many years supporting children, young people, adults, and vulnerable communities through creativity, mindfulness, and therapeutic practice.
Sophia currently works in education delivering 1-1 and group Drawing and Talking sessions alongside mindfulness and wellbeing for children, teenagers, and adults. She is also a Health and Wellbeing Mentor and specialises in emotional support, neurodiversity, and creative therapeutic approaches.
Previously, Sophia developed and led inclusive art and creativity programmes for MIND East Devon, working with individuals experiencing mental health challenges, safeguarding concerns, and rehabilitation from secure settings. Her workshops created safe, welcoming spaces focused on connection, confidence, and creative expression, with participant exhibitions held at Exeter Phoenix Art Centre. Her programme was later recommended for adoption more widely across the UK.
Alongside her educational and therapeutic work, Sophia co-runs wellbeing retreats, facilitates art and music workshops and is a teacher of yoga Nidra. She is also a qualified aromatherapy masseuse, and trained Drawing and Talking Practitioner.
A passionate creative, Sophia is a saxophonist performing with the Britannia Royal Naval College Concert Band, swing and jazz ensembles, as well as local community music groups. She is also a poet, writer, and visual artist whose work has been featured by The Guardian and Plymouth College of Art.
Sophia brings warmth, intuition, humour, creativity, and genuine care into all aspects of her work, with a strong belief in the healing power of community, mindfulness, music, and art.
